The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol
Nikolai Gogol's mystery is a dive into the philosophical perspective of life's struggles, as the protagonist starts from being a working cog in the system to finding a thing of beauty, something he loves he walks a different path but is the path now taken any better? that is left for the readers to decide. The story comes to a full circle as we reach the end and come face to face with the end and what Gogol achieved through this short read - a layered plot filled with opportunities to reread and set aside a time for yourself pondering what are we doing with the time that we do have?
